This stems from what has happened to the gymnasts. It's coming to light that people did know, and there was a nurse in the room who watched and did nothing...let that sink in. My Q/thought is, I'm still confused on why there would need to be a new law per se as what he did is a felony and Aiding and abetting used all the time in such a circumstance:
"... a legal doctrine related to the guilt of someone who aids or abets in the commission of a crime. It exists in a number of different countries and generally allows a court to pronounce someone guilty for aiding and abetting in a crime even if they are not the principal offender."
No doubt hard to prove and get a conviction many times (probably why it's rarely used by the prosecution) but in this and other cases, would seem to apply and not be terribly difficult to prove to a jury.
Would the nurse and others who knew, that they could prove they knew (always the difficult part, but for sake of discussion) not be charged also? This vid is NSFW and will breaking your heart, but their story should be known and heard. I have watched a few of these vids. I have no doubt the guards where he will end up will some fail to see the abuse he will suffer, but that does not bring back their childhood. Also a good reminder for parents, know what they are doing and have open and regular communication with them. To make matters far worse, some of their parents refused to believe them...
